RasGas; Engineering Opportunities

RasGas is engaged in the business of production and sale of Liquefied Natural Gas and related hydrocarbon products. At present, the company operates a four-train onshore facility at Ras Laffan, which is about 80km north of the capital city; Doha, in the State of Qatar. The Company, as part of its expansion programme, is currently building further production facilities both onshore and offshore and seeks highly skilled personnel for the following positions;

ENGINEERING OPPORTUNITIES

Senior Integrity Engineer

Responsibilities:
Provide Oil & gas industry experience in the fields of Facilities Integrity, Inspection, and integrity assurance, including Risk Based Integrity management with Extensive exposure to In-service Static Equipment Integrity, facilities and material. Good knowledge of root cause analysis techniques. Will participate in implementing integrity targets and KPIs. Good knowledge of selection of materials and corrosion control strategies. Fully familiar with API. ASME and TEMA static equipment, material, and inspection related codes. Capable to troubleshoot and analyze static equipment performance and to identify equipment performing outside the operating envelope and advise on appropriate action to ensure plant integrity. Capable to provide advice in the field of failure analysis. Knowledgeable about the identification and classification of various types of damage / degradations mechanisms and be capable of discerning acceptable conditions. Experience in the application of fitness for purpose and the Remain Life Assessment techniques. Conversant with API RP 579 and 571. Conversant with NDT/NDE methods and qualified as level – II. Certified API or ASME vessels & piping inspector is an advantage. Be able to carry out internal pressure equipment visual Inspection. With appreciation of turnaround planning. The senior integrity engineer is expected to Direct, plan and manage Asset Daily integrity Activities and to Act as an Asset Focal Point, in handling asset related integrity and Inspection daily activities, in Applying risk-based inspection methodologies to Develop, Plan, Implement and Execute detailed inspection work scopes. Will participate in RCFA, RA, and MOC reviews related to his nominated asset. Will be responsible to prepare inspection work list for plant turnarounds and ensure effective shutdown execution by developing strategies, identification of required manpower and equipment, proper management and leading the inspection team during the Shutdown. Will Act as “Authorized Inspector” for undertaking examinations and to inspect fired / unfired pressure equipment, heaters, columns, vessels, heat exchangers, piping systems and storage tanks.

Requirements:
BSc or MSc in Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering. 7 to 15 years experience as an integrity, inspection or corrosion engineer covering in-service Static Equipment Integrity and the application of risk-based inspection and reliability techniques in an operating oil and gas company. Strong analytical capability. Proficiency in written and spoken English. Fully Conversant with MS Office where SAP is an advantage with formal training and appropriate qualifications. Has strong technical background and knowledge of relevant International Codes & Standards. Experience in Oil and Gas operating environment is necessary. Strong communication/leadership skills.

Senior Mechanical Engineer

Responsibilities:
Providing Technical advise and support on Design, Engineering, Trouble shooting and Modification to Piping, Pressure vessels, Heaters, Exchangers and Tanks. Provide mechanical engineering expertise and Technical support to Operations, Projects and Maintenance. Should possess good and sound engineering knowledge in International Codes and Standards related to piping and pressure vessel design like ASME, API, and TEMA. Good knowledge in design review of drawings, documents and calculations submitted by Consultants/vendors of fabricated equipments and package items. Knowledge in any one or more of Piping and Pressure vessel design/analysis software like CODECALC & PV ELITE, CAESAR II, Local load (WRC 107 & 297) and FEA will be added plus.

Requirements:
BSc in Mechanical Engineering. 7 to 15 years experience as Mechanical Engineer. Experience in Oil and Gas Industry is necessary. Qualified in stress analysis and highly skilled in using relevant software. Strong knowledge of relevant Codes & Standards. Strong communication/leadership skills. Computer literacy.

Senior Programmatic Engineer

Responsibilities:
Provide Oil & gas industry experience in the overall activities of Programmatic Engineering. i.e. planning, implementing and stewarding Facility Integrity Programs for static equipment - Including Risk Based Inspection programs, corrosion monitoring and equipment surveillance activities for pressure vessels, piping, structures and pipelines. The programmatic engineer is also expected to significantly contribute to stewardship of overall company integrity programs, by recommending long and short term inspection business plans and budgets, participate in implementing integrity program targets and KPIs.

Requirements:
BSc or MSc Engineering degree. 7-15 years experience within Static Equipment Engineering-Strong technical background in NDT inspection, corrosion monitoring and static equipment integrity is required. Experience with risk based inspection programs and programmatic approach. Must be familiar with applicable industry codes and standards, facilities integrity management systems and Computer tools. Strong leadership and teamwork skills, and structured work habits.

Senior Electrical/Power Engineer

Responsibilities:
Provide technical advice on the design, engineering, troubleshooting, and modification of electrical generation (GE), transmission, and distribution plant up to 132 KV. Responsible for maintaining the reliability of the existing protective relaying / Breaker system (Multilin) and getting involved in the day to day troubleshooting and Data management related with these relays. Expected to provide technical advice with respect to medium and high voltage switchgear, generators and motors, including all associated control and protective equipment. Provide support on electrical plant and protection co-ordination studies/settings as well as Root Cause Analysis. Provide engineering expertise and technical support to Operations, Maintenance, and Projects.

Requirements:
BSc in Electrical/Power Engineering. 7 to 15 years experience as Electrical/Power Engineer. Experience in Oil and Gas or Power Industry is necessary. Highly skilled in using relevant electrical engineering software. Strong knowledge of relevant Codes & Standards. Strong communication/leadership skills. Computer literacy.

Measurement Engineering Specialist

Responsibilities:
Ensure the smooth transition from project to stable operation prior to handover to Operations. Check SAT is fully complete and all punch list items have been addressed. Prepare metering system, including Master Configuration in readiness for first product flow. Co-ordinating all commissioning and pre-start up activities, including system verification against Operations procedures and calibration management package. Co-ordinating training requirements. Ensure that meter proving activities are operating correctly and initial performance curves are compiled. Ensure that all Project Documentation is available on site. Provides a detailed and smooth handover to Operations.

Requirements
The incumbent will provide expert technical support to the metering systems installed as part of the RasGas expansion projects and be responsible for the transition from Project Management Team (PMT) to RasGas Operations (OPCO). The incumbent shall have had experience with gas, liquid (particularly LNG and Condensate) flow measurement and tank gauging fiscal systems, with specific experience on orifice, ultrasonic, coriolis and turbine type meters. He/She shall be knowledgeable with the relevant standards, in particular ISO, MPMS and AGA. A recognised engineering degree in Electrical/Electronic or Controls/Measurement with at least 10 years experience with fiscal/allocation metering technologies. Two year technology diploma or equivalent required. Strong analytical skills. Business Communication skills (reports/presentations, etc). Established global network for contacts in the fiscal metering discipline. Team player and coach Specialist in fiscal and allocation metering techniques and a working knowledge of appropriate international standards such as ISO, MPMS and AGA. At least 10 years working experience with the majority experience gained in the oil and gas industry.

Senior Rotating Equipment Engineer

Responsibilities:
Provide engineering support to RasGas onshore/offshore facilities to maintain the integrity of rotating equipment assets ensuring safe, reliability, and efficient operations. Duties include equipment surveillance, trouble shooting, root cause failure analysis, project support, maintenance support, and engineering equipment modifications.

Requirements:
BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. Minimum of 7 years experience as a Rotating Equipment Engineer. Experience in the Oil and Gas Industry is preferred. Must be familiar with all applicable rotating equipment codes and standards as well as be computer literate. Strong leadership skills and the ability to work in a culturally diverse workplace are essential.

Senior Instrument and Control Engineer

Responsibilities:
Provide technical advice on the design, engineering, troubleshooting, and modification of a wide range of field instrumentation including: sensors, transmitters, control valves (Fisher), field analyzers, gas chromatograph (Siemens) and royalty/custody transfer meters for both gases and liquids. Strong knowledge of process control theory and SIL standards. Provide engineering expertise and technical support to Operations, Maintenance, and Projects.

Requirements:
BSc in Instrument and Control Engineering. 7 to 15 years experience as Instrument and Control Engineer. Experience in Oil and Gas Industry is necessary. Highly skilled in using relevant engineering software. Strong knowledge of relevant Codes & Standards. Strong communication/leadership skills. Computer literacy.

Process Engineer Specialist (Sulfur Treatment)

Responsibilities:
Provide process engineering support to Sulfur Plant Assets by effectively monitoring, analyzing, troubleshooting, and optimizing the processing units as well as assisting in the development of the capital project plan for their respective asset areas. Provide conceptual / pre-FEED feasibility studies, develop scope of work for external engineering contractors, perform FEED as well as detailed process engineering design for small to medium size projects, and follow through with pre-mechanical completion punch out, commissioning and start-up support.

Requirements:
BSc in Chemical Engineering or equivalent. 7 to 15 years experience as Process Engineer. Experience in Sulfur Recovery & Amine system experience. High level of computer literacy, including process simulation software (Hysys) and plant information/monitoring systems. Experience must include participation in Hazops and familiarity with management of change requirements in an operating environment. Strong communication/leadership skills.

Analyzer Engineering Specialist

Responsibilities:
Support Measurement Maintenance Group in troubleshooting complex issues and ensuring optimum performance of on-line analytical and fire & gas systems. Identify non routine maintenance requirements, performance improvement opportunities upgrades/replacements, obsolescence, capabilities and limitations and progress them for resolution.
Provide technical assurance overview and advice to ensure equipment strategy is implemented consistently throughout the site. Review equipment strategy and recommend changes in maintenance schedules and procedures as dictated by performance.
Review and approve design basis & functional design specification, system and device specifications, documents such as FEED, engineering design and work scope, Test & Inspection procedures and participate in HAZOP & Design review and FAT & SAT.
Develop guidelines for Fire & Gas and critical analyzers testing and serve as focal point for on-line analytical and fire & gas engineering and complex maintenance issues, provide recommendations and follow up through implementation.
Identify new technologies and best practices for analyzer and fire & gas applications and support developing long term improvement plans using best available technologies.

Requirements:
Engineering Degree in Electrical, Electronic or Instrumentation from a recognised educational institution with excellent academic records.
About 10 years of engineering & maintenance experience in Instrumentation, On-line Analysers and Fire & Gas Systems associated with large oil and gas or petrochemical industry.

Standards And Specification Coordinator

Responsibilities:
Responsible for ensuring new documented system is managed. Perform a quality check on standards and ensure appropriate sme completes reviews. Collect deviation requests to ensure registration and appropriate review and approval as per documented system.
Generate and monitor various key performance indicators (kpis) of effectiveness of documented system process and initate steps for improvements and highlight to management any areas requiring stewardship at higher level and areas requiring changes in documented system procedure. Issue periodic reminders to all sme s to ensure compliance with documented system requirements and to flag up any potential non-compliance issues, e.g. Old standards which are overdue for review, projects being implemented with out of date standards.
Prepare and provide first line training to all personnel requiring to be familiar with and use documented system and rasgas standards. Be the first point of contact for any advice / clarifications on the rasgas documented system workflow process.
Interface with internal and any external auditors and be responsible for, progressing documented system self-assessment continuous improvement objectives.

Requirements:
A diploma (HND) or an equivalent trade qualification. All round knowledge of Rasgas Plant and facilities with 7 to 10 years of total experience in operations / Projects / Engineering. Excellent written and oral English language skills. Excellent interpersonal skill and analytical ability to deal with a diverse range of technical specialists and engineers and coordinate between cross functional departments. Archiving, filing, coordination of business systems and correspondence skills.
