Qatar Shell GTL Ltd.

In partnership with Qatar Petroleum, our client Qatar Shell GTL Ltd. (Shell) is building a world scale Gas to Liquids (GTL) complex in Ras Laffan Industrial City, under an agreement with the State of Qatar. A diversified use of natural gas is emerging, adding a new dimension to traditional uses of gas by converting gas info, amongst other products, a high quality transportation fuel virtually free of sulphur and aromatics.

Qatar, with one of the largest reservoirs of gas, has the stated aim to be the GTL capital of the world.

Technician

1. INSTRUMENTATION

a. Instrumentation Field Technicians
Qualification and Experience:
The candidate should hove at least a Diploma in industrial Measurement and Control or other associated subject within the field of Instrumentation, with at least 8-10 years experience either on onshore or offshore facilities of the Oil and Gas Industry. It is required for the candidate to have knowledge of and experience with a wide variety of field instrumentation.
This shall include planned routine maintenance and unplanned maintenance in the form of troubleshooting, failure analysis and problem solving. Experience with field instrumentation interfacing with DCS, IPS and other PLC type systems is considered desirable.

b. Instrumentation QMI Technicians
Qualification and Experience :
The candidate should have at least a Diploma in Industrial Measurement and Control or other associated subject within the field of instrumentation, with at least 8-10 years experience either on onshore or offshore facilities of the Oil and Gas Industry. It is required for the candidate to have knowledge of the analytical measurement principles used and experience as Process Analyser Technician with field process analysers and laboratory analytical equipment for the measurement of physical and chemical properties. Knowledge and experience of toxic and flammable gas detection equipment is also required. Experience with the latest methodologies for Fiscal Metering Systems is considered desirable.

c. Instrumentation OCS and PS Technicians
Qualification and Experience:
The candidate should have at least a Diploma in Industrial Measurement and Control or other associated subject within the field of instrumentation, with at least 8-10 years experience either on onshore or offshore facilities of the Oil and Gas industry. It is required for the candidate to have knowledge of and experience with either Distributed Control System or IPS (PLC type safeguarding system) maintenance including diagnostic display analysis and understanding. It is considered beneficial where candidates have configuration and system management experience. Experience with Honeywell systems is considered desirable.

2. MECHANICAL TECHNICIANS
Qualification & Experience:
The candidate should have at least Diploma in Mechanical or equivalent with at least 8-10 years maintenance experience within Oil & Gas Industry for Rotating Equipment, Static Equipment (columns, vessels, valves etc.). Heat Transfer Equipment (Furnaces, Heat Exchangers etc.), Mechanical Protection devices (Relief Valves, Bursting Disc s etc.) is required. Field experience shall include planned routine maintenance and unplanned maintenance in the form of trouble shooting, failure analysis and problems solving. Experience in Condition Monitoring, Inspection/Testing of mechanical equipment is highly desirable.

3. ELECTRICAL TECHNICIANS (FIELD, PROTECTION TEST & INSPECTION)
Qualification & Experience:
The candidate should have at least Diploma in Electrical or equivalent with at least 8-10 years either onshore or offshore facilities of the Oil & Gas Industry. Knowledge & experience in Electrical Distribution, Electrical Installation, Maintenance Execution & Electrical Protection, Inspection/Testing is essential. Experience in troubleshooting and analysis of equipment failure is highly desirable.

4. SENIOR LABORATORY TECHNICIANS
Qualification & Experience:
The candidate should have at least graduate in Chemistry or equivalent with at least 8-10 years either onshore or offshore facilities of the Oil & Gas Industry. Working experience & Sound Knowledge laboratory equipments like ICP, IC, GC, & XRF and sound knowledge of working with international standard procedures (ASTM/ISO/IP) is required. Knowledge d UMS & Quality Management System is highly desirable. The candidate should be able to explain the international standard procedures to laboratory technicians.

Shift Supervisors

A. SHIFT SUPERVISORS (PROCESS)
Qualifications & Experience:
Diploma in Chemical Engineering with 10 - 15 years operational experience in a gas plant, refinery or chemical plant.
• Have a proven track record as a shift supervisor and senior panel member, backed up by working experience in some of the main processes of o GTL or large petrochemical plant, or an offshore production facility, or a gas treatment plant.
• It s essential that you have good knowledge of computerised systems far data collection, analysis and reporting. Familiarity and experience with International Standards and/or Shell Design & Engineering Practices, and other Shell methodologies such as Flawless StartUp, HSE case, HAZOP, IPF, RCM and RBI would be an advantage.
• Experience in (pre) commissioning and startup is on advantage.
• Knowledge of computerized systems for data collection, analysis and reporting.
• Familiarity and experience with International Standards, Design & Engineering Practices, and other methodologies such as Flawless StartUp, HSE case, HAZOP, IPF, RCM and RBI.
• Responsible for supervising and leading a shift team. Coordinating with other department executing operation, plan, ensure manpower availability, maintenance activities, assessing root causes and remedies.
• During commissioning & pre-commissioning phase to develop the training programs and train operators.
• Full involvement in the Commissioning and start up SU plan.
• Create HSE environment & culture among team members, job safety analysis, PTW & aspects of HSE.
• Fluency in written and spoken English is also essential.

B. SHIFT SUPERVISORS (REFINERY)
Qualifications & Experience:
Diploma in Chemical Engineering with 10-15 years operational experience in a gas plant, refinery or chemical plant.
• Have a proven track record as a shift supervisor and senior panel member, backed up by working experience in some of the main processes of a REFINERY plant, (a gas treatment plant or atmospheric and vacuum distillations, hydro-cracking, hydrotreating or lube oil units and storage tanks).
• It s essential that you have good knowledge of computerised systems for data collection, analysis and reporting. Familiarity and experience with International Standards and/or Shell Design & Engineering Practices, and other methodologies such as Flowless StartUp, HSE case, HAZOP, IPF, RCM and RBI would be an advantage.
• Experience in (pre) commissioning and startup is an advantage.
• Knowledge of computerized systems for data collection, analysis and reporting.
• Responsible lot supervising and leading a shift team. Coordinating with other department executing operation, plan, ensure manpower availability, maintenance activities, assessing root causes and remedies.

Engineering Supervisors

1. INSTRUMENT/ELECTRICAL SUPERVISORS
Qualification & Experience
The candidate should have at least a Diploma in Industrial Measurement and Control or an Electrical discipline, with at least 10-15 years experience in the Oil & Gas Industry either onshore or offshore. The position is a maintenance Supervisor position and the candidate shall have a wealth of experience in planned and unplanned maintenance. The ability to fault find and diagnose faults air equipment and support subordinates is essential. For candidates with an Electrical background the experience shall cover a wide range of electrical equipment inclusive of generation and distribution at both HV and LV, Static UPS systems, motors both AC and DC, Electrical protection and Inspection and associated Electrical control systems and a solid background in Electrical safety is required and the candidate must have held a certificate/qualification in recent employment to formally isolate and de-isolate electrical equipment. For candidates with Instrumentation background the experience shall cover the full variety of field instrumentation and knowledge on Instrumentation systems is desirable. The candidate will lead a team of both staff and contractors. Preference is for supervisors with both instrumentation and Electrical skills, but candidates with one of the skill will also be considered.

2. MECHANICAL MAINTENANCE SUPERVISORS
Qualification & Experience:
The candidate should have at least a Mechanical Diploma or equivalent with at least 10-15 years either onshore or offshore facilities of the Oil & Gas Industry for Rotating Equipment, Static Equipment (columns, vessels, valves ect), Heat Transfer Equipment (Furnaces, Heat Exchangers ect.), Mechanical Protection devices (Relief Valves, Bursting Disc s ect) is required. 3. MAINTENANCE PLANNER/SCHEDULER
Qualification & Experience:
The candidate should have a Diploma in an engineering discipline with 10-15 years experience in Petrochemical industry covering maintenance work preparation activities and/or shutdown preparation. The application of risk and reliability centered maintenance techniques; inspection and best practice maintenance execution would be advantageous. Exposure to quality management systems is required. A working knowledge of the Primavera Planning/scheduling software would be advantageous.

All personnel must be able to work in a multicultural environment and must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization. Fluency in English both in writing and verbal is mandatory and will be tested.
